<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">Brenda
Perlin is an independent adult contemporary fiction author. Brenda
evokes emotional responses in her readers by using a provocatively
unique writing style. Her latest book, Home Wrecker, captures the
soul-wrenching conflicts of a personal struggle for emotional
fulfillment.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">Ever since Brenda was a child she has been fascinated
with writing. She draws her biggest inspiration from Judy Blume. This
sparked a passion in Brenda to pursue personal expression through
writing. Once she was old enough to go to coffee shops alone, Brenda
recalls losing herself in the world of writing, all while documenting
her ideas on paper napkins.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">"There is really no creative process, I just write," - Brenda Perlin</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">Brenda's
first book, Home Wrecker, was published with Master Koda Select
Publishing. Within a short time, the book developed a strong fan base
and is continuing to grow as it both entertains its readers and leaves
them in a state of profound thought. In the near future, Brenda would
like to have Home Wrecker expanded into a trilogy in order to tell the
untold stories of her characters.</span></span></span><br />

<div style="font-family: Papyrus;">
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;">*From the moment I started reading this book I knew I was going to like
it. Little did I know by the end of the book I would fall in love with
it.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"> *I really enjoyed this book...not just for the story but for the way it
took me back to memories of my own life growing up in Los Angeles in the
80's. Hard to believe this is the author's first book... it's written
with such a heartfelt combination of candor, humility and humor. I'd
definitely recommend it!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-size: large;">*From the moment I began reading, I didn't want to put it down.</span></span> </span></span><br />

Brooklyn’s life, she felt like she was on an endless journey toward

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">Sunshine creeps in your window and a gentle breeze
billows your curtains softly. The smell of lavender and honeysuckle
soon drift into your nostrils and before you know it you're wide awake.
Did that really happen last night, you wonder? You must of had one glass
of wine too many.</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
Slowly you close your eyes and you visualize his face again. He takes
your breath away just like last night when he kissed you. Should you
have told him it had been years since you had been kissed? Probably not.
No use making him feel sorry for you. Your lips still feel bruised from
his passionate kisses. You remember how weak your knees were when he
held you and you slow danced in front of the firelight. You hadn't
danced with anyone in quite awhile. How could he know you needed to be
held and to be loved again?</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
Did he know how good his hands felt in the small of your back when he
pulled you to him? You never even realized he was anything more than a
friend until this moment, this perfect spell binding moment when he
captured your heart.</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
The day had started out so badly with everything hitting you all at
once. You wondered how your life had gotten so far off track with the
loss of your marriage and then having that horrible car accident. Could
anyone be more needier than you? You sit up in bed and take a deep
breath.</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
Quietly you get out of bed and walk over to the bathroom mirror and
suddenly you blush. You just remembered the bath. Oh my goodness, you
gasp as your hand flies to your mouth. He undressed you and put you in
the tub when you were a sobbing hot mess of tears. His gentle touch and
his kindness nearly had you undone with passion. Passion you hadn't felt
in quite a while.</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
Your fingers brush your lips as you relive the taste of his mouth,the
smell of his hair and the strength of his strong arms holding you in a
tight embrace.You get dizzy just thinking of it. Even though you had
scars from the accident, he said you were beautiful and you would never
grow old to him.</span></span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
Didn't he sound just like the perfect man? You think so, except for the
fact he is blind. He is as capable as any man with sight as far as you
are concerned. How could you be so lucky? Tentatively, you walk over to
the window and inhale deeply. Spring is in the air. Anything could
happen right?</span></span></h3>

<h3 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace; font-size: large;"><span style="color: #351c75;">
The silence is shattered by the sharp ring. You walk over and grab the
phone while you peruse the book opened up on your nightstand.</span></span></h3>

<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">

It's your best friend and she asks you what you are doing tonight.You
laugh as your daydream fades and you close the book entitled,
Radiance:Love after Death. You remember falling to sleep after a glass
of wine and reading this sultry bath scene with a guy named David who
was blind and the woman he falls in love with.</span></span></h3>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 19px;">Romance. What exactly does the word romance
mean? I looked it up in the dictionary and these are some of the definitions it
had; love affair, physical affair, spirit of adventure, fascination with
something, story of love, love stories collectively, fictitious account.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 24.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">What?!!
Fictitious account? I laughed at that one, but it so describes what it’s all
about for women and men {yes, I said men!} that read romance novels. In
reality, reading romance is all those things and more and I want to talk about
how they can contribute to the “romance dance” between real relationships in a good
way. After being married, or in a long-term relationship, things can get boring
and predictable. Change is what spices it up. In my research, I came up with
the following conclusion, which says it loud and clear. <i>Romance books
fulfill a need and are here to stay! </i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">That’s why Stephanie Meyer’s books have
generated 2.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales even though people have read
the books and know what is going</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"><i> </i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">to happen! Here
are five things that romance does for us.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 24.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 24.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">1.
<b>Euphoria. </b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">We
love the feeling of euphoria! One of the best things about love is the
honeymoon period when you were first learning about each other. Books help us
relive that feeling and to remember how it felt when that first kiss took place
or the moment you first knew you were in love. Hey, the whole world swooned when
Edward and Bella first kissed in the mega best seller, Twilight, by Stephanie
Meyers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was <i>awesome</i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"> wasn’t it?<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 24.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">2. <b>Escape.</b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"> Readers love romance novels because of
the “escape” it gives them. Walking around with baby spit up and oatmeal on
your pants isn’t very glamorous. You might have worked fifty hours a week on
your job and your husband wants to go play golf or hunting. Then you are left
alone with two rowdy toddlers under five years old and a grouchy teenager
that’s mad because you won’t let him get his eyebrows tinted purple. Romance
stories transport us away from our everyday environment to far away historical
settings like maybe a beautiful English castle in Scotland or romantic hideaway in the mountains. The heroines may look
like you’ve always wanted to look: fancy ball gowns, perfect figures to die for
and have a prince charming that looks like he just walked off a photo shoot
from GQ. Where as our own mates may wear the same old jeans, have bad haircuts
or gained too many holiday pounds in all the wrong places just as we have. It’s
nice to pretend and say <i>what if…<o:p></o:p></i></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">3. <b>Happy Endings. </b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">We’d be fooling
ourselves if we said all our lives were<b> </b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">perfect and we had great relationships.
Most all romance stories have a happily ever after. Sometimes it might take a
few sequels to get there but you’re almost always guaranteed a fairytale
ending. As women and men we need that in our lives. Life is not perfect but
it’s a relief to dwell somewhere that it is even if it’s just in our minds.
It’s a great stress reliever.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">4. <b>Fantasy. </b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">Are you a soft-spoken homemaker
who goes to PTA meetings and bakes cookies? Maybe you dream about being swept
off your feet by a big burly motorcycle guy on a Harley? Or perhaps you
fantasize about being the bell of the ball in a daring gown you would <i>never </i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">wear in real life and
being ravished the first night you meet. You would <i>never ever</i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"> do that in real life. It
can certainly light your fire though! It takes us away from our lives and
transports us to other realms and dimensions, all for the price of a few bucks.
Cheap therapy huh?<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">5<b>. Spice up a Relationship. </b></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">Men would do well to
know what their wives and girlfriends like romantically. Wonder why women don’t
ever want to have sex? Maybe a few clues would help. One way to find out is to read a
few of their romance books. Maybe, just maybe, the kinky stuff that Christian
did in 50 Shades of Grey to Ana might score you the jackpot. Wives, maybe
asking your husband to let you do a photo shoot of him for your personal
collection dressed up like your favorite pirate might make him feel like Tom Jones incarnated. Books can revive your
relationship!<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #674ea7; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">So, what is the romance dance? It’s all
the things we do to <i>get </i>romance. Reading a favorite book or watching a movie, sending flowers or giving a great back massage do wonders!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">I do remember once time about a
friend of mine complaining that his wife always had her head stuck in a book.
As far as reading romance books, men should <i>never</i></span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"> complain
about women</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;">
reading too much romance. <i>You become her romance novel and see if she does
not want you before she ever picks up a book!<o:p></o:p></i></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-outline-level: 1; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #674ea7; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 14.0pt;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Speaking of romance, my paranormal love story, Radiance: Love
after Death has received great reviews from men and women. You can read the
first two chapters for free in the look inside feature on Amazon and decide for
yourself and well, there’s this one scene where he puts a blindfold on her
while she’s in the tub and ah…well...I don’t want to spoil it for you. {Try it
you might like it!} Hey, reading it is a good thing. It will help you get your
dance on. Enjoy!<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Secret #1—Editors Are NOT Rich</span></h3>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">As authors, we thought all editors were paid via salary. At
a minimum, we assumed they were paid a large chunk of money per book when the manuscript
was contracted. Then we became editors—</span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">GASP!</span></i></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Most editors with publishing houses either get paid
royalties—meaning they ONLY get paid IF the book sells—or a small flat fee
based on word count. Example: a 30,000-word manuscript x 1¢ per word = $300…but
the editor usually spends anywhere from 40-50 hours to put out a quality
product. You do the math. We’re talking less than minimum wage. And though we
editors may have anywhere from 5-50 authors under our belt, we’re usually only
working on 2-5 manuscripts at a time due to our many other duties (See AJ’s
article </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">“</span><a href="http://www.mysticalpress.com/2012/07/waiting-edits-editing/"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">Waiting
For Edits… Tick… Tock…</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">”).</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">So what’s the big secret that affects you? This is a KEY
factor in getting your manuscript contracted and why it’s #1 on the list. </span><b><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">The
less time an editor spends on a manuscript, the more bang she gets for her
buck.</span></i></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> Editors are looking for stories that are clean, easy to edit, and
worth spending time on. Remember…your job as an author is to learn your craft.
Which brings us to the next secret…</span></div>
<h3>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Secret #2—They Don’t Call It the Slush Pile for Nothing</span></h3>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">MOST of the manuscripts that come across our desks are CRAP!
We are </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">not</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> kidding and this was a
surprise to us, too. And we’re not just talking about the book. We’re talking query
letter to synopsis to finished manuscript. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWv-k_cCoQt20q2StxBupHPlzbUi54TmTsNnl-XtriktF4UbfGdUaPP-8CToVH9AZqUzF0hXrjcY7moslrQpk-WZIyN4nBmBQ1I-nbMADYJWqneTu_GHWN4452NCFgiwdBIpy9IBb75Nm/s1600/secret02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWv-k_cCoQt20q2StxBupHPlzbUi54TmTsNnl-XtriktF4UbfGdUaPP-8CToVH9AZqUzF0hXrjcY7moslrQpk-WZIyN4nBmBQ1I-nbMADYJWqneTu_GHWN4452NCFgiwdBIpy9IBb75Nm/s1600/secret02.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> So how
do you </span><b><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">seriously</span></i></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> stick out amongst the kah-kah and craft something
sparkly clean? KNOW YOUR CRAFT! We cannot stress this enough. Never stop
studying the craft of writing and find a good critique partner who will be brutally
honest with you. And we’ll share two bonus secrets—the two biggest trouble spots
in 99% of manuscripts submitted to us are </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">show
versus tell</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> and </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">unrealistic characters</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Herein lies the rub: If authors are getting form-letter
rejections, how do they know what (or how) to fix their manuscripts? That’s
where we come in. We have three classes that will help you overcome the above
issues AND you will have one-on-one interaction with an </span><u><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">editor</span></u><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> to learn
what you’re doing wrong—not just in these but in other areas, as well: </span><a href="http://www.mysticalpress.com/show-versus-tell-complete-series-2/"><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;">Show versus Tell (SVT)</span></i></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Class Series,

Power Class. If you’ve never been published, then this valuable interaction
with an editor will shave DECADES off your learning curve. No joke.</span></div>
<h3>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Secret #3—We Are NOT Looking for an Excuse to Stop Reading</span></h3>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Several agents seem to give this same advice to authors. “Editors
are looking for </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">any</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> excuse to stop
reading. Your job is to not give them ANY excuses.” Though we clung to those
words as if our life depended on it as authors, we were </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">really</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> offended to hear this as editors. We imagined an editor
reading a query letter, getting to the part that didn’t appeal to her and
collapsing back in her chair. “Oh thank GOD I can stop reading!” WRONG!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Editors are NOT looking for any excuse to stop reading. We
are BEGGING to find a good story! (Refer to Secret #2) We’re on </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">your</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"> side! We WANT to find characters to
fall in love with and worlds we can escape to and storylines that will keep us
up all night, wildly flipping pages, dying to know what happens next! We don’t
do this job because of the money (refer to Secret #1). We’re editors because we
love to read and we love stories.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Now…for the next secret you should sit down. This is going
to be quite a shock.</span></div>
<h3>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">Secret #4—Editors are NOT Gods</span></h3>
<h3>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;"></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7; font-size: small; font-weight: normal;">We’ll give you a moment to recover. </span>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">There
are indeed some editors who enjoy the “Deity” status and therefore abuse the
power. Yes, we are the gate keepers of your manuscript, but in all honestly
there are editors out there who don’t know their tushies from a hole in the
ground. We were surprised to find out how many editors—Big 6 or otherwise—really
don’t know their job well enough to do it properly and consequently we cringe
at some of the stuff we read. And make no mistake—we’re learning more every
day, so we’re not perfect either. This is why it’s important to know your
craft…so you know what to defend in your manuscript and can have an educated
discussion with your editor when she suggests a change you feel is wrong.</span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">In my quest to help other writers, I have come across some incredible promotions that I believe stand out among the rest. You can always pay people to do things for you if you have lots of money, but every beginning writer knows that's not usually the case. Every day, new things arise and I always try to take advantage if it sounds good. You have to be careful though, there are sites that are just after money and you usually will find that out very fast. Most good promotion sites want you for an ulterior purpose. They want your book to draw business to their site where paid advertisers hawk their products or perhaps the page owner himself has something their selling. As long as it is a legitimate business or site it's really a win win situation.You both help each other. also it never hurts to be kind, share and tweet. Kindness reaps its own kind of free promo. So, with that being said, if you like this post and learn something from it could you go back and share it on your page? I'll be giving A's for that, lol.</span><br />

It takes a while to fill out all the questions they want from you, but they want to do a great job. I'm talking about your promo, your book trailers, and ALl your links and more! What does David ask for in return? He appreciates it if you "like" his site (or your page) on Facebook, tweet about it, Google+ it, or give him a backlink on your book's website. Since all of those things help to promote your book as well, I would jump on this right away since it's a great free promo site.</span></span><br />

When I saw my book on my XOXO Publisher’s web site and
then on Amazon, I thought I was queen for a day ten times over! As any good

element of promotion for me, which is </span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Facebook.</b>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Why is it my favorite? Because you can easily erase a post if you screw up, unlike
e-mail that once it’s gone and you just realize you have two typo’s of the same
word—too late! Been there done that. Nothing like egg on your face as a new
writer, you get use to it!</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

with a ‘beautiful’ picture.</span> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">I have had great success with images from </span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Photobucket</b> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">{there are other sites

both commented on the pictures I have used with my promos. I choose what I call
fantasy pictures, which I feel are very romantic and alluring {not sleazy, there
is a difference} and it has been very effective in getting readers interested
in what I have to say. I have had several men read and review my book because of it. Don’t believe me? See the difference in your views. Put two post an hour apart saying the
same thing, but on one of them attach a picture. In twenty-four hours check
each post on the left hand bottom side of your fan page. It definitely works!</span></span><br />

about their fight with their boyfriends or their political pros and cons I am
so turned off. Also stay away from the negative and gross pictures. What do I
mean? Don’t be sharing pictures of your terrible black and blue bruise on your
big toe to get sympathy. Remember also to not make snide comments on other
people’s status updates. Negative comments get negative reactions. I saw an
author post over thirty snide remarks laced with profanity about a reviewer who
didn’t like her book. Needless to say, she didn’t have too many takers for
reviews when her new book came out after a public display of temper. Resort to
private FB or email messages and keep it <i>out </i>of the public eye.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

characters. As a career, I am a Respiratory Therapist and work in a large
community hospital. I love my job and what I do, but if I could find a way to
make money at reviewing books I would be doing that. Carrie Ann Ryan got me
started with my blog. I had just found her as an author. I read her first two
books in the Redwood Pack series. I was waiting for book three and Carrie was
giving it away book before it was released to a few lucky people. Carrie made a
comment and said, "I would give it to you if you had a blog." She did
give me a copy but it made me think, so I started looking into it then. That
was in March of this year. I have been working on it every since. Still not

not go on the site. If I can't rate it a 3 or better i will try one of the
other reviews before I give up on a book. Everyone has there own opinion and
way of looking at something. What I like, someone else might not and so on. My

therapy sessions I attended did I feel any hope for my future. After work, I
rarely left my home, but this day my ordinary turned into an extraordinary
event that impacted my life in ways I never dreamed of.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 14pt;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #674ea7;">This morning, old memories were rushing at me
like a freight train. I felt like jumping off a cliff. My mind wondered how I
could stand even another day of this kind of emotional pain. I just drove for a
while trying to forget my anguish. Finally, exhausted, I pulled up at my
daughter’s house with tears streaking down my face. Then, I got out of the car
and for an unknown reason my hand reached down and pulled out a rose colored,
heart-shaped rock. I was surprised because it wasn’t visible when I reached
down. It was totally hidden in the grass. It felt like my hand was guided there
for some reason.</span></span></div>

voice clear as a bell inside my mind. ”Even though it’s crooked and nearly
broken, it’s still a heart and still capable of love.” It was a simple message
from a tiny heart-shaped rock placed in that exact spot for me to find. Life is not meant to be perfect! Do your best and remember that true love never dies! Love will always live inside you and give you the strength to go on!</span></span></div>

wanted to weave this message into a paranormal love story. </span></span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 19px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #b4a7d6;">Amera Roberts pulled the covers closer as the
frigid air assaulted her lithe body. Her arms and head were exposed by pitifully thin covers, but she had nothing better to use. Her caretakers had
left her six days ago on her eighteenth birthday and they had taken everything
except her bed and dresser. She had got up for breakfast as usual and to her
surprise, she opened the door to a bare room and scribbled note. She still
turned the cryptic message over in her mind with anger. Time to worry about the
meaning later, but now, she must try to survive with very little wood and an
ever dwindling supply of food.</span></span></div>

hunger, she procrastinated whether she should get up to check the fire. In her
heart, she feared it must be out already, but she knew her life depended on
getting some warmth in the frigid temperatures of early dawn. As her bare feet
met the cold stone floor, she cringed at the brief contact before she found her
slippers. Her breath painfully expelled white little puffs of air as she
dressed herself.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

ashes to find embers. Her heart began to sink. She had only one more match and
wanted to save it for an emergency. Panic filled the empty space in her stomach
and just as she dreaded the worst, a tiny, glowing, ruby ember sparked warmly
and she let out an audible sigh. Frantic, she hurriedly gathered her basket of
pinecones and threw a few on the embers to keep it burning.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

would have no way to cook her meager allotment of food. If she was really stingy
with her rations she could hold out for three more days. It was difficult when
she had not been full for almost a week. A dozen potatoes, two cups of meal and
half a loaf of bread could only go so far. One day she had given into weakness
and consumed an extra cup of tea to stave off her hunger. Today, she was sorry

Gregory adored him. He took him hunting on his trips to the glen and saved

stayed here dreaming of a life outside this glen. She had rarely strayed

They had told her nothing of getting married! She had stayed here to please

Down through the trees she saw a clearing with several small cedars. She was

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Well, Valentine's Day is for sweethearts. I remember in third grade making handmade cards and decorating them with crayons. I was so proud of how mine looked. We all had a box and by the end of the day mine was filled with cards, lollipops and one treasured bar of chocolate. At that young age, I realized that even though cards were pretty to look at, chocolate was where its at!</span></span></span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">The next great gift for Valentine's day is an escape! Escape from housework, {do the dishes or laundry} escape from cooking{buy her dinner} escape from pain {foot rub, back massage}.That should be easy enough! No woman in her right mind would say no to that!</span></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">The last but not least is romance! There is nothing like a good book to set the sparks flying for a night of love. Reading a good love story transports us away from housework, sparks passion and makes us remember how good love FEELS! So, in honor of Valentine's Day I am giving away one free e-copy of Radiance:Love after Death. What is your perfect gift? Comment on this post to be put in the drawing on Feb. 15th.</span></span></span><br />

How do you know for sure that's it's over? I have taught marriage enrichment and have experienced my own divorce and it's pretty much the same for everyone.Their are things in common we do see, and things we don't see, until after it's over. <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">We all have our own mechanisims to deal with heart-ache. But why is it such a shock to our systems and how does it have the ability to hurt and destroy us? It all stems from our idea of what love is.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Being lonley was my big hang up. Growing up we always lived in secluded locations and I guess that made me feel like I needed more attention. For me, it was never even the big things, it was the little things, the details. Maybe he bought me a piece of my favorite chocolate, or he rubbed my feet without me asking or said, "honey don't cook, let's go out to eat."</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Unexpected pleasures. It's like when you were small and your daddy went to the store and you said, "Get me a suprise!" Oh, the bliss of cracker jacks and mary janes.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Don't get me wrong, the big things are nice too. But for me, I thought those things were rolled into the marriage vows and were a given.You know, love, honor and obey. It's not for some people. They can break those vows like match sticks. It was the small quirky things that brought me down after he left.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Now, we all have our rituals and strange little habits that are endearing to us. The thing I missed most after the break up was "the cricket dance." Don't laugh. It wasn't an actual dance.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"> Every night in bed my feet would always be hurting or cold. So, he would take his feet and rub mine up and down and massage them with his dexterious toes. It was wonderful, so I dubbed it the cricket dance. Crickets wern't so dumb after all! It became a mating ritual of sorts. It worked. It was our thing.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">{Maybe we're not so different from insects after all.}</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Cricket dance became a secret code word of sorts.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">You know, your husband is </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">in the romantic mode </span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"> and the kids are underfoot . After missing his eye movements to follow him, he desperately whispers among dog growls and squealing kids."Honey, can we ah...do the cricket dance?"</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">The kids or company never thought twice. They thought it was some new funky dance move.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"> There are lot's of things we do as couples that complete us. To others it may sound foolish or silly but sometimes they are the hardest to let go. It was months before I could look at horses because he loved them so.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">Now, most of my ghost are gone. My memories of him locked away inside my mind. It's part of my healing to let go. What kinds of things were hard for you to get over?</span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">My character Marena Jacobs has a near death experience that sounds unbelievable when you first read it. Research however, shows that people really do encounter these startling journeys into the celestial realm. Interesting, I think that subjects always report seeing people that have deceased, </span></span><em><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">never</span></span></em><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"> people who are alive. Then of course, there are reports of the light, the tunnel, winged creatures {angels} Jesus and other similar encounters.</span></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;">The most notable investigation I have ever read is Dr. Michael Sabom's recount of Pam Reynolds who was clinically dead as they repaired a deadly brain anyurism. Below is an excerpt that has extensively been documented in academic settings and has appeared in many scientific journals. In Dr. Sabom's book "Light and Death," Pam Reynolds account is spell binding:</span></span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #8e7cc3;"><br /></span></span><br />

I could see that one of them was my grandmother. I don't know if it was reality or a projection, but I would know my grandmother, the sound of her, anytime, anywhere.</span></span></span></small></div>

I have been all of those things. My heart tells me many of you have been there too. Why do we not want to break up with our spouses or boyfriends when they do wrong to us? Why do we accept the most atrocious behaviour, squash our self esteem underfoot and pretend it's acceptable when it's totally not?</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">Simple. It's fear.We are afraid we will end up alone.Waking up to an empty pillow is bad enough. The first morning I did was very emotional for me. During sleep you finally get to forget for a while. Then seeing the empty pillow reminds you of your loss all over again every single morning.</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"> We dread even thinking about a new relationship because they might end up being worse than what we had with the other person. I thought to myself what would I do on holidays with no one to share them with? What if I get sick or what about important decisions. How would I make them alone?</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"> Can you live without love? I don't think so.</span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">Experiencing happiness after a serious breakup does not have to be impossible.Their are other forms of love you can experience. The love of helping others or receiving love from your family is awesome.</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"> A best friend of mine lost her husband to a co-worker. She hated living alone. She finally bought her a small terrier that took up her time and gave her comfort. Every time she cried, Muffin licked her face and did her magical doggy smile. It worked. She finally gave up on crying. She didn't realize she would love having a small dog so much. Love takes on many forms and you can get it from other ways if you look for it. You can still have it in your life if you listen to your heart. Read the advice that helped me below.</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">1. Don't rush into another relationship. Your new beau will end up knowing more than he ever wanted to know about your ex spouse or boyfriend. You wouldn't want to hear about his ex girlfriend would you? Of course not.It takes time to heal and it won't happen overnight. Wait at least 6 to 8 months or longer, <em>before</em> you even go out for a casual dinner or chat. You have some healing to do.</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">2.Take your mind off of things. Volunteer.There are plenty of places to volunteer like the hospital, library or animal shelter. This will boost your self esteem tremendously.What are your hobbies? Find something related to your favorite things. This is a very motivational thing to do. Your local library may know of an online website that coordinates volunteers for the community. It will get you out among people again.and focus on giving to others. You will get back ten times more than you receive. Try it. It's good for the kiddo's too. It's very difficult for them also.</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">3.Take care of yourself! Depressed people stop caring about physical appearance and how they dress. Seek professional help if you need it. Get your hair done, try a new color or style. Do your nails. Buy a new outfit in a size you want to fit in. Start exercising even if it's just walking. Many medicare plans have a free gym membership included. Check yours to see if it's one of them. All of these things are about giving you some much needed attention. You deserve it and need it!</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;">4. Get a hobby. Do you like to write? Then join a local writers club. Like to read? Nothing like a good romance book to get those desires flowing again. What about photography or painting? The phone book or internet will help you find a club for everything. Need to meet more people? Go to church. Don't be a recluse. Stay around compassionate people who care for you. It will help you find yourself. After all, hearts are made to heal.They were made that way.</span></strong><br />

My much awaited novel, Radiance..Love after Death is soon to be released. The total amount of time for me involved for me has been over a year. How does it feel? Sort of like Christmas and birth all rolled into one. Like I have said before, writing is the fun part; it's all the rest that is so maddening. I know my work is not perfect, but it's the best I can offer. With more experience I hope that's it's just a begginning.This is mid- May right now and June will be a whole new story. I'm glad you are on this ride with me.</strong></span><br />

I <span style="font-size: large;">am proud to be associated with an awesome division of the Nini group, XOXO Publishing. They are supportive of me as a first time author and give me incredible feedback on my ideas. I am especially pleased with the charities they donate to and their work in the publishing field with new authors. I hope you will check out their other books and if you have a dream to be a writer, submit to them!Check out their submission guidelines and give it a try. I also recommend Gina Cianfarani's book, "The Art of Self Promotion." Check out their web site and keep a look out for my novel "Radiance, Love After Death! Debra Jayne East</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>If you had to be rescued, then he's the one you want to come and save you.Read an excerpt from "Radiance, Love After Death" and see if you agree!</b></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>Excerpt:</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">First, a blue jeaned leg with a black harness boot comes through the window and the other, soon after. “I’m coming in, don’t be afraid!” A deep voice bellowed. A man</i>, maybe in his early forties, straightens up in front of the curtains, and I don’t think I have ever seen anyone that tall in person before. He has to be six-foot eight or nine at least, with long brown hair pulled back in a ponytail. He’s wearing a chambray shirt neatly tucked into his jeans. He stands there quietly, in a long black over-coat and dark sunglasses. Just <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">who</i> has climbed in my window? He turns his head as if he’s scanning the room.</b></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Could you manage to not look just yet, please? I’m in the tub.” I try to grab the towel but can’t reach it, so I just cross my arms across my chest. My face has to be red as a beet.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Don’t worry, I can’t see you,” he says calmly.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Well, I’m right here in front of you. Hard to miss my red face,” I snap.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Honest, I can’t see you, I’m blind.”</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>I almost laugh, but I don’t.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Who are you?”</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“David Martin. I’m two days late, I was supposed to be here Thursday, but the train had some mechanical problems which caused a delay.”</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>I recalled, after a few seconds, that Selena said earlier the person never showed up who was supposed to stay here. What is his name oh darn… it’s Martin.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Oh… well,” I stutter. Mortified, I wonder what I’m going to do. Things like this always happen to me.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“What’s your problem here, maybe I can help?” He takes a few steps closer.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Are you really blind?” I ask, unsure.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Well, see if this will help you decide." He pulls out one of those folded, walking canes. Instantly leaping through the window when he whistles, is a small brown and white cocker spaniel dog.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“Meet Bradley, my official Seeing Eye dog, and this is my walking cane,” he smiles. He uses it to walk closer to me sweeping from left to right. He manages to avoid objects in his path, and he stops just a few feet away. Not a bad looking fellow, just intimidating, I think to myself.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>My mind starts racing, and suddenly, I wanted to get out of this situation before it got any worse.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>I realize I can stay in the tub all night, or get on with the evening, and ask him to help me. I swallow my pride. I become flustered but I try to sound calm.</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“It’s nice to meet you David. I seem to be stuck in the tub. I’ve been in an accident, and my knee isn’t quite healed yet. Could you help me out?”</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>“I’ll try.”</b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0.1in 10pt 0in;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New; font-size: large;"><b>I’m glad if I had to be stuck in an embarrassing predicament, that it’s a blind man who has come to my rescue. The absurdity of the situation puts a blush on my face. Before I could dwell on it too much, he comes over and lifts me out of the tub, into his arms. I’m getting him wet, but he doesn’t seem to mind. As he holds me, his eyes never once look towards my face, or down at my body. Despite the fact, he seems unaffected by my nakedness; my body chooses to respond against my will. A flush of excitement surprises me. He is so strong and the most masculine type of male I’d seen in a long time.</b></span></div>
